Edo State Government Secures Admission For Stowaway Boy In Top Secondary School

Edo State Government has secured admission in one of the state’s top secondary schools for 13-year-old Daniel Oikhena, who stowed away in the tyre compartment of an Arik Aircraft from Benin to Lagos on Saturday August 24, this year.
According to Governor Oshiomhole

“He is an intelligent young man with uncommon challenges, but one that has a vision. We had him examined by people who should know and the result confirmed that he is normal”.

“This incident was probably the kind of trigger that we needed to improve the facilities at our Airports.   You are never going to have all the money you need to do all you have to do.  You should start from somewhere”.

Putin jabs U.S., Obama in op-ed, says Syria strike would be 'act of aggression'

Washington (CNN) -- Hours before the top diplomats from his nation and the United States begin a high-stakes meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin took to The New York Times to argue against military intervention in Syria and jab his U.S. counterpart.

Using an op-ed "to speak directly to the American people and their political leaders ... at a time of insufficient communication between our societies," Putin made a case much like U.S. President Barack Obama did Tuesday night -- although their arguments could hardly have been more different.Striking Syria would have many negative ramifications, Putin argued in a piece that went online Wednesday night, including the killing of innocent people, spreading violence around the Middle East, clouding diplomatic efforts to address Iran's nuclear crisis and resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and "unleash(ing) a new wave of terrorism."

Man Castrates Self After India Preacher Is Charged With Raping A 16-Year-Old Girl

A Hindu holy man castrated himself in India on Wednesday following the arrest of popular preacher Asaram Bapu, revered by millions across the country for his sermons on enlightenment. 

Police have charged the 72-year old guru with raping a 16-year-old schoolgirl at one of his ashrams, or religious centers, in August.

Authorities in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh found Baba Premdas, a 60-year old follower of Bapu, bleeding at his home in Amethi from apparently self-inflicted wounds, city police chief Alankrita Singh told CNN. Premdas was admitted to a local hospital and then taken to a bigger health facility for surgery where his condition "is stable", said Singh.

Asked whether his act was related to the arrest of Asaram Bapu, Singh added, "We have heard such things, but all this is unconfirmed."

Fani-Kayode Finally Withdraws “intimate relationship” Comment About Bianca Ojukwu

A week after Bianca Ojukwu threatened to commence a legal action against controversial ex-minister, Mr. Fani-Kayode if he fails to retract his comments over an '' Intimate Relationship'' comment about her, he has finally listen to the voice of reason and withdrawn the controversial comment.

In a statement through his lawyer, Rotimi Akinola, on Thursday, Mr. Fani-Kayode accepted that he erred by making the comment but said it was “bizarre, absurd and inexplicable” that the wife of the late Biafran warlord, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, claimed they were never acquainted.

“As our client said earlier through his press secretary some of the words he used to describe his friendship with Ambassador Ojukwu in his article titled ”A Word For Those Who Call Me A Tribalist” were indiscreet,” Mr. Fani-Kayode’s lawyer said in the statement.
